Amethyst from Zimbabwe

These specimens display a classic scepter formation, which is a two phase growth pattern, where there was in interruption in the initial hydrothermal formation. The scepter bars are a lighter amethyst hue, whereas the scepter heads are darker with smoky amethyst and many specimens include hematite needles and enhydros.
